In Blackjack Portuguese (Multihand 7 Seats), you can play up to 7 hands simultaneously, and you have to get a higher point than the croupier’s without exceeding 21 points to win the game.
When you get 21 points with the first 2 cards you receive, you have blackjack, the best hand in the game.
Your only opponent is the croupier who is obligated to stand on 17.
A game is played with 6 decks of 52 cards.
Value of the cards
The cards from 2 to 10 represent their respective value in points.
The face cards; jack, queen and king each yield 10 points.
The ace is worth 1 or 11 points, depending on the most beneficial situation.
Start a game
Choose your stake for each hand and press the button "deal" to start a game. The cards are dealt clockwise and the last card is given to the croupier. The croupier deals one card face up for each hand in play and then deals a second card. The croupier’s second card is laid face down. The value of each hand in play is shown next to the cards.
Only when you get 21 points with the first 2 cards you receive, do you have blackjack. A blackjack beats a hand which has 21 points with 3 cards or more. A blackjack also beats a hand that has a total of 21 points with a split pair.
Your turn
If the value of your initial hand is lower than 21 points, you can:
- Press the button "Hit" to get an extra card. You can ask for as many cards as you want as long as you don’t exceed 21.
- Press the button "Stand" to validate your hand and try to beat the croupier.
- Press the button "Double" to double your bet and receive a final card.
If the total amount of points in your hand exceeds 21, you bust and lose the stake of this hand. When all the hands have been played, the croupier shows his second card and its value. The croupier has to take another card on a hand of 16 points or less and has to stand on 17 or higher.
You win if the value of your final hand is closer to 21 than the croupier’s of if the croupier has more than 21 points. If your hand has the same value as the croupier’s, the game ends in a tie and you get your initial stake back.
Specific rules
Stand - You can only choose to stand if the total value of your cards is higher than 11 points.
Double - In case of "Double Down" (total of the first 2 cards equal to 9, 10 or 11), you can choose to double.
If you have an ace in your first 2 cards and you decide to double, the value of the ace will be 1 point until the end of the game.
Split - If your initial hand is a pair of cards with the same value, you can decide to split the pair and create 2 separate hands, each with its own stake that is equal to your initial stake. Only one split per sit.
If you split with 2 aces, only one card will be drawn next for each of both hands.
Insurance - If the croupier’s first visible card is an ace, you can choose to take insurance against a blackjack for the croupier. The amount you pay for this insurance equals half of your stake and is separated from your initial stake and placed in the insurance area.
If the croupier has a blackjack, you win the insurance 2 to 1. If not, the insurance is lost.
Red card - A red card is placed in the croupier’s deck after 2 decks of 52 cards. When the red card is drawn, this means that all the decks will be shuffled again starting the next game.
Special prize - None (e.g.: Triple 7 or Suite 6, 7, 8)
Surrender - When the dealer does not get an Ace as first card, your very first action may be to surrender. Then, you fold your hand and receive half your bet back.
If, after the cards have been dealt, you have a blackjack, the croupier’s first card is an ace and he has not yet revealed his second card, you may surrender as well. Then, you get back twice your entire stake.
